More than an adapter
a custom optical interface

We open up the capabilities we built shipping autofocus adapters — mount protocol reverse engineering, focus algorithms, precision machining and production quality control — to industry partners. Whether you need an existing lens family mounted on your camera body, or a completely new optical-mechanical and electronic interface for your system, it starts with one conversation.

Projects in industrial cameras, high-speed cameras and astronomy cameras are already underway.

Why us

Why build it with us

An adapter looks like a mechanical part. What is actually hard is the electronic protocol, the focus algorithm and unit-to-unit consistency — and we have already shipped that at scale.

01

Protocol stack in-house

The electronic protocols for Sony E, Canon EF and Nikon Z are fully reverse-engineered in-house, not a reference design — so we can adapt specifically to your body and lens combination.

02

Precision machining

All-copper and aluminium-copper alloy bodies CNC-machined, with flange distance, back focus and concentricity built into the tolerance analysis at the design stage.

03

Firmware on request

Lens databases, focus curves, aperture control, EXIF and telemetry can all be developed to spec, with batch configuration and upgrades over Bluetooth or USB.

04

Small runs welcome

Prototyping, integration, pilot runs, fixtures and test flows are all in place — you do not have to commit to volume before the design is proven.

Fields

Fields we serve

From production-line inspection to deep-sky imaging — if it means joining an optical front end to an imaging back end, reliably, we can help.

Industrial camerasACTIVE

Machine vision and in-line inspection: flange distance and back focus adaptation for fixed focal, telecentric and line-scan lenses, C / CS / F / M42 interface conversion, with integrated locking and hard-stop structures.

High-speed camerasACTIVE

High frame-rate recording: lightweight high-strength adapter structures, repeatable locating accuracy and anti-loosening design for long-duration vibration and shock.

Astronomy camerasACTIVE

Cooled cameras and telescope ends: back focus, filter wheels, focusers and M48 / M54 / T2 thread interfaces, keeping the image plane concentric with the light path.

Scientific & microscopy

Mechanical and electronic adaptation for microscopy, spectroscopy and endoscopy — non-standard flanges, custom routing and shielding.

Cine & broadcast

Mechanical adaptation for PL / EF / E mounts and cine lenses, with follow-focus gears, power contacts and data communication.

Payload & airborne

UAV and vehicle platforms: lightweight, vibration-resistant, wide-temperature custom adapters and power solutions.

Process

How we work together

From brief to production, every stage has a deliverable.

1

Brief: camera side, lens side, optical parameters, operating environment and expected volume.

2

Feasibility: flange distance, back focus, light path and electronic protocol review, with an initial concept and a price range.

3

Mechanical design: 3D modelling and tolerance analysis, with drawings, materials and process plan.

4

Prototype: sample build, then assembly, focus accuracy, endurance and environmental testing.

5

Integration & firmware: joint debugging with your system, including lens database, focus curves and communication protocol.

6

Pilot to production: pilot validation, fixtures and process lock-in, then volume delivery and version control.

FAQ

Frequently asked

These are typical ranges — actual lead times and minimum quantities follow the project assessment.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Custom projects usually start with a small pilot run and move to volume once validated. The number depends on mechanical complexity and whether firmware work is involved — you get a firm figure at the assessment stage.

Can we sign an NDA?

Yes. We sign an NDA before the project starts and treat drawings, firmware source and process documentation as confidential.

How long does development take?

Mechanical-only custom prototypes typically take 3–5 weeks. Projects that include firmware and protocol development and full integration usually run 8–12 weeks, depending on complexity and test scope.

Do you do contract manufacturing or private label?

Both ODM and OEM are supported, including silkscreen, packaging, manuals and firmware branding. We can also take on just the mechanical or just the firmware portion.
